Mind-reading machine helps 'locked-in' patients communicate

 Researchers in Europe have developed a brain-computer interface that's able to translate brainwaves and blood flow into "yes" or "no" responses. 

Patients suffering from "'locked-in syndrome" experience complete paralysis, including the inability to blink. They're completely cut off from the outside world. But through this technology, four locked-in patients were able to communicate with their loved ones for the first time.  Read more...
