Is Instagram down right now?

UPDATE 1:38 p.m. ET: A spokesperson from Instagram said that the service was briefly down, but it is now working again. 

If you're getting that frustrating "Couldn't Refresh Feed" pop-up on your Instagram feed right now, you're not alone. 

More than 1,000 people have reported on Down Detector that the site and its app were not working between noon and 1:30 ET on Tuesday. 

If you try to go to the social network's desktop site, you'll be greeted with a screen displaying a 5xx Server Error.
