LG's UltraFine monitors are tailor-made for the new MacBook Pro

At its MacBook-centric event Thursday, Apple did not — as some have hoped — introduce a new standalone display. 

It did, however, partner up with LG, which launched a pair of monitors designed to work with the new MacBook Pro. They can be purchased directly from Apple's website.

Two models are available: the LG UltraFine 27-inch 5K monitor, and the LG UltraFine 21.5-inch 4K monitor. 

The larger of the two has a 5,120x2,880 resolution (note that Apple's own 27-inch 5K iMac has the same resolution) — that's 218 pixels per inch. It's an IPS display with a P3 wide color gamut and 500 cd/m2 of brightness.   Read more...
