Microsoft's 'Hey bae intern' email is the embarrassing dad of emails

Here's a piece of advice: Whether you're an individual or a multibillion dollar company, never start any sort of event invite with the words "Hey Bae."

Especially if you're unsure what "bae" means. 

According to Twitter user Patrick Burtchaell, his roommate received an email from a Microsoft University Recruiter, inviting them to Microsoft's Internapalooza afterparty in Seattle on July 11. 

The email is chock full of youngspeak which feels oddly out of place. Besides the cringe-inducing "Hey bae intern" opening — sorry Microsoft, we're not boyfriend and girlfriend just yet — highlights include the mention of the company's "crew" and the promise of "hella noms" (lots of food in English).  Read more...
