The Dodge Viper lived fast and will die young.

Dodge announced Tuesday morning that it has created five new special-edition Viper models to mark the car's 25th anniversary. It also announced that 2017 will be the last year of Viper production.

When a rumor broke out last October that a new Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) labor deal might terminate the Viper in 2017, Dodge denied it. Now, it turns out, the rumor was true.
