Elon Musk: There's a 'one in billions' chance our reality is not a simulation

The fact that you can't afford a Tesla? It doesn't really matter, because we're all probably living in a simulated reality. 

That's according to Elon Musk, who answered a question about the possibility of living in a simulated reality at the Code conference in California on Wednesday. 

The simulation hypothesis posits that every sufficiently advanced civilization is likely to create simulations of the universe (or a slice of it). And since there are hundreds of billions of galaxies in the universe, each containing hundreds of billions of stars, there's a good chance that advanced civilizations other than ours exist, and that some of them are running a simulation of reality.
