Slack is challenging Facebook with a new 'Sign in with Slack' button

The "Sign in with Facebook" and "Sign in with Google" buttons have been a fixture on the web for years now, allowing Internet surfers to quickly create accounts on tons of websites with one click. No new usernames or passwords required.

Now that the chat app Slack is growing in popularity, the team behind it is throwing its collective head into the dedicated login button ring, The Next Web reported TuesdaySlack announced that it released an API that can be integrated by developers into their websites and apps.

The "Sign in with Slack" button works just like other dedicated login buttons — it takes your Slack credentials and uses them as your login information for whatever app or site allows it.
