This Facebook 911bot could save your life one day

Since Facebook rolled out chat bots in Messenger in April, programmers have created bots to deliver news on demand, provide medical advice, and request an Uber. 

Now there's a bot that one day could save your life.

The 911bot allows you to alert emergency personnel when you need help by typing in information, sharing photos, and responding to questions via Facebook Messenger. The bot was created at TechCrunch's Disrupt 2016 by Omri Klinger, Tomer Coreanu and Hadar Landao, TechCrunch reported.

After initiating the 911bot, it asks if the issue is life-threatening, and then gathers information from you about the incident with either text or a photo. It also records your location and phone number. The bot then places a phone call to emergency services for you, relaying the information via an automated voice, and connecting you to the operator.
