You can now play an NES with modern, wireless controllers

For the last decade, we've taken for granted the fact that game controllers no longer need to be tethered to your console.

But if you're a classic gamer at heart, you're stuck within a limited range of the Nintendo Entertainment System. It's a 31-year-old problem that someone decided to solve.

Third-party controller maker 8Bitdo and Analogue, makers of the Analogue NT NES, partnered to make the Retro Receiver: a dongle that plugs into any Nintendo Entertainment System controller port to work with Bluetooth controllers. So you can use wireless knockoff NES controllers (also made by 8Bitdo), or connect a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, a Wii Remote or Wii U Pro Controller. Read more...
