Some lucky Aussies are getting Tesla's home battery for a healthy discount

Australia has sunshine for days, so it only makes sense the country spearhead the uptake of solar technology. 

In January, Australians were particularly excited to be among the first in the world to install Tesla's energy storage battery, the Powerwall, and now the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government is trying get such batteries into even more homes.

To kickstart a sun-powered revolution, the government on Friday announced the winners of a new scheme to install around 200 discounted battery storage units in homes in Canberra.
