Tesla recalls 2,700 Model X SUVs over third-row seat safety concerns

Tesla Motors is voluntarily recalling 2,700 Model X SUVs over safety concerns its third-row seat could move forward during a crash. 

According to a tweet from Electrek, which includes a screen grab of a letter sent to a Model X owner, the vehicles are being recalled due to an issue with the seat's hinge that allows it "unexpectedly slip." 

In the recall letter, Tesla highlights that the original part was designed not by the company but rather by a third-party supplier. Tesla has since worked with the company to design a replacement recliner, and it's currently designing a reworked third-row seat-back to accommodate the replacement recliner. Read more...
