Amazon backtracks, decides to bring encryption back to Fire OS

Just a day after we reported that Amazon had quietly removed device encryption from Fire OS version 5, the company has reversed course and decided to bring encryption back to Fire OS

However, if you were expecting an immediate solution, you're out of luck, as the encryption update won't arrive for at least a couple of weeks

"We will return the option for full disk encryption with a Fire OS update coming this spring," an Amazon spokesperson told Mashable on Saturday
