Stanford's self-driving Audi uses AI to speed past 110 mph on the track
Stanford's autonomous Audi takes to the track not to show off but instead to enhance self-driving car safety.
Believe it or not, there's utility in running Shelley, Stanford's custom-rigged self-driving Audi TT S, around the track. Not only does it show just how well a computer can handle track driving, it also allows students to develop and improve upon emergency lane-change algorithms that might some day keep you safe on the freeway.
