Users are not happy about Netflix's crackdown on VPN services

Netflix is cracking down on customers using virtual private networks (VPNs) to watch its content, and it doesn’t look like anyone is happy about it.

Netflix is a region-locked service, meaning that different countries and regions have access to different TV shows and movies, as well as different features like subtitle languages. To be able to access content that isn’t available in their region, some Netflix users employ VPN proxies, which makes their computers’ IP address read as if it’s connecting from a different region

According to a post on Reddit, the Netflix website brings up an error message when users in some European countries attempt to connect through a VPN, which other users corroborated. Read more...
