New Facebook video feature lets you sing — not just write — happy birthday

Facebook is rolling out a way to make wishing "happy birthday" to your friends a little more personal.

The company announced a feature on Monday that allows users to record 15-second videos that can be shared to a friend's timeline. You'll also be able to select from various birthday-themed frames to dress up the video message.

The feature will become available for Facebook users on iOS devices starting on Monday; it will come to Android in the coming months, Facebook told Mashable.

To make a video, visit the profile page of your friend via the iOS app and select the banner video prompt where you would typically craft a birthday message. From there, you can choose the option to record a video and share it on that person's wall. (Good thing the song will be free to use, if all goes according to plan.) Read more...
