LG's new phones each come with one specialty

Smartphone manufacturers usually have one or two high-end models (often called "flagships"), several mid-range devices, which are just like flagships, only with overall weaker specs, and a few entry-level devices, with far weaker specs but a very affordable price

Now, LG is trying something different. On Monday, the company announced a new line of "Specialist" smartphones, which have mid-range specifications, but excel in one specific area. 

The first two such phones, which will be officially launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (Feb. 22 - 25), are LG X cam and LG X screen. 

The X cam is a 5.2-inch Android 6.0 phone with a 1.14GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 2,520mAh battery. Its superpower — you guessed it — is in the photo-taking department. The phone comes with two rear cameras — a 13-megapixel and a 5-megapixel one — and an 8-megapixel selfie cam on the front. 

The 4.93-inch X screen has the same specs, save for a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and a 2,300mAH battery, and it lacks the secondary camera on the back. Read more...
