Anil Dash on Twitter's bad week and Facebook's Free Basics

It's been a tough week for Twitter and Facebook.

Twitter announced a new algorithmic timeline and endured the predictable backlash that followed. It also posted some of its worst numbers ever in an earnings call.

Elsewhere, Facebook struggled to bring its Free Basics program to India, and a bad tweet from one of the company's board members only made matters worse.
