Google upgrades weather forecasts on Android

With the East Coast bracing for a major blizzard, Google has updated the way weather forecasts appear for Android users

Now, when you search for weather conditions, the Google app surfaces much more detailed information, including longterm and hourly forecasts, weather alerts and air quality updates.

The update is significant because Android, unlike iOS, doesn't ship with a default weather app. Previously, searching for weather updates would surface a basic overview but you had to launch a separate app or website, like The Weather Channel, to see more detailed reports. Read more...
