Just weeks after the announcing the formation of new rules governing the ownership of drones in the U.S., Federal Aviation Administration head Michael Huerta appeared at CES on Wednesday to offer more detail on the agency's efforts to regulate the rapidly growing amateur drone market — and share the success of the agency's drone registration app

Next to hoverboards, amateur drones appeared to be one of the hottest items on holiday shopping lists last month — but the FAA's new mandatory registration rules may put a damper on the drone party for some casual users.
