Smart shower head will help you cut down on all that water you're wasting

LAS VEGAS — A 10-minute shower can eat up to 50 gallons of water. Low-flow shower heads can cut that usage by half, but there aren't many tools for keeping track of water consumption as you shower

Hydrao Smart Shower may be the first — and it doesn't use any energy in the process.

The white shower head, which was introduced here at CES, is equipped with built-in LED lights that can tell you, roughly, how much water you've used. The Bluetooth LE device connects to an iPhone or iPad app, which lets you set three alert intervals — for example, five gallons, seven gallons and 10 gallons. For each, the Hydrao shower head will light up three different colors that you can see in the center of your show stream.
