Hyatt finds malware on its computers, warns customers to check credit card records

If you've recently stayed at a Hyatt hotel, you might want to check your credit card records

The company announced on Wednesday that it had detected malware on computers that operate its payment processing systems.

"As soon as Hyatt discovered the activity, the company launched an investigation and engaged leading third-party cyber security experts," the company said in a statement

The nature of the malware and other details were not disclosed, meaning that the incident could range from an innocuous infection of Hyatt's computers to a full-blown scheme to steal customers' credit card data.
