First airlines, now colleges are banning hoverboards

In late November, airlines began banning hoverboards over safety concerns. Now some colleges are following suit.

The George Washington University announced Tuesday that effective Jan. 1, 2016, hoverboards will be banned from its campus. Citing several consumer agencies that are investigating the self-balancing scooters for fire risks, the university said it is moving to ban the gizmos in order to ensure campus safety.
