Google's Project Fi now works with select iPads and Android tablets

Slowly but surely, Project Fi, Google's mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), is broadening its device support.

Project Fi users can now order a data-only SIM card for select Android tablets and iPads equipped with cellular antennas. Supported devices include the Nexus 7, Nexus 9, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4 and Galaxy Tab S.

The data rate for these data-only SIM cards is the same as regular Project Fi for smartphones: $10 per gigabyte. Google says the SIM cards provide data coverage in more than 120 countries. Project Fi users can add up to nine data-only SIM cards to their account. Read more...
