Court ruling could make Uber illegal in Australian state

Uber's questionable legality in the Australian state of Victoria could be determined by a landmark court case.

A court has ruled UberX driver Nathan Brenner​ was guilty of driving a hire car without a commercial licence or registration on Friday, in a report by The Age.

According to the report, Brenner was caught by two undercover taxi compliance officers from Victoria's Taxi Services Commission in August 2014, where Magistrate Julian Ayres believed that Brenner fully knew that he was driving a car hire service in exchange for payment Read more...
