Where's your Uber? New color coding will help you find the right car

Hate when you and all your friends can't figure out whose Uber is whose? The company is listening to your prayers.

Uber announced Wednesday that it's testing a new feature called Uber SPOT that uses color coding to match riders with the correct driver. Riders select a color of their choice in the Uber app and a bar of the same color lights up on the drivers windscreen.

Currently, the feature is testing in Seattle, where Uber has provided a handful of drivers with SPOT hardware. While waiting for their ride, Uber will prompt passengers to select from one of six colors to help them identify their driver. Holding down on the color will light up the user's phone screen, theoretically making it easier for drivers to find their passengers. Read more...
