iPad Pro teardown reveals larger, more sophisticated speakers

The iPad Pro is out, and naturally, it's already been torn to pieces by iFixit. We've expected that, but what we didn't know was that the most interesting part of Apple's largest iPad were its speakers

Of course, there's the huge 10,307mAh battery, a fairly new design with the logic board placed in the iPad Pro's center and the fact that the entire thing is nearly impossible to repair on your own

By far the most interesting part of the iPad Pro, however, is its four speakers. As it turns out, they are quite large — each with its own resonance chamber, machined into the device's aluminium case. They take quite a bit of space — iFixit estimates they occupy about half as much as space as the battery does. Read more...
