This Chevy-built 1970 Camaro RS has a modern 650-HP V8 engine

Usually when an automaker introduces a new product, they like to frame it in a modern or futuristic way. Not Chevy. To introduce its latest crate motor (an engine you can buy in a box, sans car), Chevy bolted it under the hood of a 1970 Camaro RS. The result is a vintage car from the Nixon administration era with an exceptionally modern heart: A LT4 6.2-liter V8 that makes 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Giddy-up.

As for that engine, it's noteworthy for several reasons. Not only has it been ripped from the frame rails of the Corvette Z06, which gives it some serious bona fides, it is also General Motors' most powerful production-vehicle engine ever. Read more...
