CES 2016 will be the year of Netflix and Uber

There's a fairly good chance that those trekking to Las Vegas early next year to attend CES 2016 and witness Netflix CEO Reed Hastings' first-ever CES keynote may have the option of taking an Uber.

Ride-sharing services Uber and Lyft are now approved for use in Las Vegas, though the ability to have them pick you up at McCarran Airport is rolling out more slowly and, as of this writing, only Lyft is approved for airport pickup. According to a Consumer Electronics Association (a.k.a., CEA, the group that runs CES) spokesperson, Uber airport pickups should be in place by the time the event kicks off in early January. Those drivers, Uber and Lyft, will not be able to drop you off at the convention center taxi stands and, instead, will be directed to private car pickup and drop-off areas. Read more...
