How this controversial cybersecurity bill could jeopardize your private data

Lawmakers are scheduled to vote today on much-anticipated cybersecurity legislation, which its authors say will keep your data safe — though critics say the bill will not keep your data private.

Following a number of high-profile cyberattacks targeting major U.S. corporations including Home Depot, Anthem and, most famously, Sony Pictures, lawmakers introduced the bill, known as the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, or CISA.
