Kickstarter 3D printing star buys time as death's shadow looms

SINGAPORE — Despite the rumours of its imminent death, Singaporean Kickstarter star Pirate3D is insisting that its ship remains afloat, and that it will rebuild its product to keep its promise to backers.

On Tuesday, the company posted a long message to the backers on its immensely successful Kickstarter campaign page to confess that it's simply not able to fulfill the remaining 60% of orders. (TechCrunch has the screengrab of the message.)
