Forget the latest Apple releases: The most in-demand gadgets this holiday season might just be drones

About a million drones may be sold as Christmas presents this year, estimates an administrator with the Federal Aviation Administration, who, understandably, sounds a little concerned at the prospect of so many unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the loose

"A lot of people who don't have a pilot background are operating these things in the airspace," FAA administrator Rich Swayze said, according to Aviation Week.

Though the price point for higher-end drones hovers around $1,000, popular demand for the gadgets has seen versions retailing at Walmart for as little as $20.
