Facebook goes down for the third time in 3 weeks

Facebook's website and mobile app went down for some users Monday afternoon — the third outage for the social network in as many weeks.

While Facebook's website appeared to load very slowly for some users, the app and website were inaccessible to many Monday afternoon.

Facebook's performance dashboard noted there was a "major outage" beginning at about 12 p.m PT. The dashboard monitors the performance of the Facebook API, which is used by many developers that integrate their services with Facebook.

The outage marks the third time the service has gone down in the last three weeks. The site previously experienced issues on Sept. 17 and Sept. 24. Read more...
