Customers in Singapore are already selling pre-ordered iPhones

SINGAPORE — People in Singapore are already gearing up to sell their new rose gold iPhone 6S and 6S Pluses, ahead of the phones hitting the market on Friday.

Local classifieds have filled up with numerous postings from people looking to secure buyers before they collect them on Friday morning from telcos and resellers, which have sold out on pre-orders.

At time of writing, the wait for the larger iPhone 6S Plus models is 3-4 weeks on the Apple Singapore store. The wait is 1-2 weeks for the smaller 6S.

Because of the wait, people have been pricing their phones higher than the sticker price. Apple's official price starts at S$1,048 (US$737) for the 6S and S$1,218 (US$857) for the 6S Plus, both 16GB. For the largest storage at 128GB, the phone costs S$1,388 (US$976) and S$1,588 (US$1,117), respectively. Read more...
