2016 Volkswagen Passat has new tech, new looks and bad timing

Volkswagen's new Passat sees some welcome improvements, but suffers from a case of unfortunate timing.

Volkswagen launched the 2016 Passat, a refresh of the model which debuted in 2011, at a Monday night event in New York. It features a host of new tech features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and new exterior and interior design.

Unfortunately, its launch comes at what could be the lowest point in Volkswagen's history. The company is facing potential criminal charges and a huge fine from the E.P.A. for engineering its four-cylinder diesels to cheat on emissions tests, according to reports. Read more...
