Hasbro's remote-controlled BB-8 is bursting with charm, even when it fails
I feel terrible for R2-D2. The most beloved droid in all of the world has been ousted by BB-8, an even cuter and more adorable droid, in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and the movie hasn't even been released yet.
As soon as I saw BB-8 scooting along on its ball-shaped body in the first trailer, I knew the toys it would spawn would be insaneMashable's Chief Correspondent Lance Ulanoff recently got to check out the BB-8 toy by Sphero and he immediately fell in love with it.
Sphero doesn't have a monopoly on remote-controlled BB-8 toys, thoughHasbro's selling one, too, and it's a lot bigger. Oh, and at $80, it's just a little over half as much as the $150 Sphero BB-8. Read more...
