Sharp's 8K TV will be available in Japan next month for $133,000

So far, we've seen 8K TVs at industry events such as IFA or CES. But starting next month, customers in Japan will actually be able to buy Sharp's first 8K LCD TV.

The 85-inch LV-85001, as its called, boasts a crazy 7,680 x 4,320 pixel resolution, which — let's be frank here — won't mean much to anyone as 8K content is impossible (well, nearly) to find right now

Other specs include a 120Hz display frequency, 176-degree viewing angles and a contrast of 100,000:1

All those numbers pale, however, in comparison with the price, which is an absolutely insane 16 million yen or around $133,000. Read more...
