Facebook starts letting your friends know you've ignored their event

The dreaded read receipt in Facebook's chat client, Messenger, which has ruined many a friendship by letting your chat buddies know you've seen their messages but haven't replied, is making its way to another Facebook feature: Events

According to Daily Dot, which confirmed the news with a Facebook spokesperson, Facebook is trialling the ability for event hosts and guests to see whether the folks who were invited have seen the event

The feature is not live for everyone yet (Facebook says it's just a pilot), and there's no word whether it will ever become standard.
