Mercedes' Concept IAA transforms the future of efficient sedans

Cars of the future will need to be efficient — governmental regulations dictate that. However, while efficiency is ratcheted up, cars cannot lose any interior refinement or design dynamics in the process, neither consumers nor the egos of carmakers would allow for that. So how does one create an ultra-efficient car that is both visually appealing and roomy enough to boast a comfortable cabin?

The answer, at least according to Mercedes-Benz, is to make two cars in one, capable of transforming between two modes with the push of a button. And, yes, it's about as complicated as you imagine.
