NASA's 4K-resolution space channel is the closest thing to being in space

4K TVs are here and they're finally affordable enough to own, except there's next to no actual 4K content to watch on them.

NASA's going to help change that. The space agency is teaming up with Harmonic, Inc., a company that specializes in video delivery infrastructures, to create a dedicated channel that will broadcast final frontier related content in spectacular 4K resolution. The 4K space channel is expected to launch on Nov. 1 for viewers in North America.

Called NASA TV UHD (Ultra High Defintion a.k.a. 4K), the channel will show content "sourced from high-resolution images and video generated on the International Space Station and other current NASA missions, as well as re-mastered footage from historical missions." Read more...
