New Apple iPhones will feature 3D Touch, a big step up from Force Touch

Like the Apple Watch and new MacBook, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be able to recognize different levels of pressure.

The new phones, which Apple announced on Wednesday at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, which feature 3D Touch, an evolution of Force Touch. The new iPhones will now respond to different levels of force, activating different features within apps.

With 3D touch, Apple created two new features in iOS 9: peek and pop. Lightly tapping on a photo icon will let you "peek" at it without opening it up, while a harder touch will "pop" open the app. Different apps will utilize 3D Touch to perform a variety of different functions. Read more...
