Dyson brings ultraviolet humidifier and mite-sucking vacuum to the U.S.

BERLIN — Dyson has developed a pretty good strategy for selling you new gear: reveal some disgusting truths about your existing environment and solutions and then show how they can, potentially, solve them.

On Friday at IFA, Dyson showed off its two newest get-the-yuck out technologies: A humidifier that uses ultraviolet light to zap bacteria in your tap water before turning it into a healthy mist and a mattress vacuum with enough suction power (thanks to Dyson's digital motor) to pull free the countless microscopic dust mites that have latched themselves onto the fabric of your sleep center.
