New app Arro lets you hail a yellow NYC taxi with no surge pricing

The New York Taxi industry runs the risk of being completely disrupted by Uber, but now a new hope emerges.

It's called Arro, and it has partnered with one of the major providers of payment systems in New York City cabs, Creative Mobile Technologies (CMT), reports Crain's. The service is currently being beta tested and will be available in the coming weeks.

Like Uber, a user opens up an app, inputs their destination and a driver in a yellow or green NYC taxi comes to pick them up. Uber also offers a service that lets you hail a normal NYC taxi, but it charges a $2 service fee and you have to pay the cab driver directly.
