Samsung Galaxy Note 5: The big screen goes chic, but at a cost

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 suffers from a split personality. Samsung says the big-screen phone is meant for power users, but it clearly has improvements — like the beautiful metallic design — that are meant to attract mainstream attention.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing. A little high-end styling never hurt any smartphone, and the Notes have always drawn two audiences: Productivity-obsessed workhorses and people who just like the Note's big screen, which has measured a pretty-much-just-right 5.7 inches diagonal for the past three generations.
