Apple launches redesigned website, kills old Apple Store

Apple's longstanding online retail site is technically no more

The Cupertino tech giant officially eliminated its standalone retail site with the URL store.apple.com, Mashable has learned, and integrated the shopping experience directly into Apple's main web site, Apple.com. Apple confirmed the move to Mashable.

“We redesigned Apple.com knowing that our customers want to explore, research and shop in one place," an Apple spokesperson told Mashable in a statement.
