Critical Flash and Windows security flaws unearthed in Hacking Team hack

Adobe has promised a fix for a new, gaping security hole in its Flash software — a hole that could potentially allow attackers to execute code on the victim's computer after they visit a malicious website

The flaw was discovered in the 400GB of data stolen from Hacking Team, a company that makes surveillance software for governments, after it was hacked over the weekend.

Adobe has acknowledged that the flaw exists, marking it as a "critical" vulnerability. It said a fix should be available on Wednesday

The flaw affects Adobe Flash Player 18.0.0.194 and earlier versions for Windows, Mac and Linux, according to Adobe's latest security bulletin, and could be used to "cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system." Read more...
