How iCracked is becoming the Uber for smartphone repairs

It’s not unusual for 20-year-old Taha Jahmi to drop what he’s doing on a Saturday night and meet a stranger at a bar to fix their shattered iPhone display.

In fact, Jahmi is making a living off of on-demand smartphone repair requests for iCracked, a Redwood City, Calif.-based startup that’s probably best described as the "Uber for fixing phones."

“I meet people in coffee shops, at their homes, offices, parties — anywhere,” Jahmi said. “I’ve even fixed smartphones in bars at 10:00 p.m., after someone has drunkenly dropped a device on the floor." Read more...
