Apple Music streams songs at the same quality as iTunes downloads

Regular music listeners may not care, but there's segment of audiophiles out there that really cares deeply about their music's audio quality.

It was previously reported Apple Music would stream music at a bit rate of 256 kilobits per second (kbps) in Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) and Mashable has now confirmed this is the case.

Bit rate is the amount of data that's processed in any given amount of time. For songs streamed on Apple Music, that means there's 256 kilobits in every second of the track. The higher the bit rate, the better a song will sound — at least that's what most people believe. Read more...
