That Lexus hoverboard has its own custom skatepark

Lexus unveiled a "real, rideable" hoverboard on Wednesday — a skateboard that levitates above the ground, just like in the legendary Robert Zemeckis movie Back to the Future Part II. Such a hoverboard would be likely to rely on magnetism, which implies it had to be ridden above a metal surface, but the surface in Lexus' short promo video appeared to be concrete.

Now, Spanish website El Patín (found via The Verge) has uncovered the location of the skatepark used in the video — in Cubelles, a village near Barcelona

The construction of the park, according to El Patín, began about a month ago, and the site is guarded 24 hours a day. The surface is indeed metallic, but covered with very thin wooden planks.
