I flew around on a Pegasus by riding a bike hooked up to a VR headset

LOS ANGELES — For 10 minutes at E3 2015, I felt like Hercules riding his winged horse Pegasus.

Of course, I wasn't actually riding a horse, and everything I was experiencing was within Sony's Project Morpheus virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 4.

Without a doubt, E3 was all about virtual reality this year. Oculus had a huge booth, Sony featured a section for Morpheus, and a dozen other smaller VR companies were in attendance.

The most intriguing of the VR experiences was called VirZoom, where several sensors attach to a bicycle and turn your stationary pedaling into movement within VR. Wireless velocity sensors on the rear wheel measure speed, and another sensor connected to the front wheel controls steering.
