Apple's beefed-up iPad multitasking lets you see apps side by side

Apple introduced a brawnier multitasking mode on iOS 9 aimed at the iPad

The new mode includes app shortcuts, an improved task switcher that's summoned by pressing the home button twice, and a feature called SlideOver lets users basically bring up another app by sliding it from the side of the screen

A new 50-50 view lets users see two apps side-by-side at the same time. There's also picture-in-picture viewing that lets you move your video around in a corner while you use other apps

Many of these features will find their way to iOS devices, but the split-view features will be unique to the iPad Air 2 (and future models) for now because they take advantage of the iPad's beefier hardware. Read more...
